Potion Uncommon (500 gp)
This potion is an expertly crafted illusion, perfectly mimicking the appearance, smell, and taste of a normal healing potion. Its radiant glow and pleasant aroma deceive even the most seasoned adventurers. When consumed, however, the potion harms the drinker instead of healing them.
Upon drinking this potion, the drinker takes 3d6 necrotic damage instead of restoring hit points. The damage bypasses temporary hit points and ignores resistances or immunities to necrotic. The drinker feels their vitality painfully sapped, as if their life force is being drained.
This potion is exceptionally difficult to detect. Even magical identification methods such as the identify spell will reveal it as a standard healing potion. Only a wish spell or similarly powerful magic can uncover its true nature before it is consumed.
