While holding this rod, you can use a reaction to absorb a spell that is targeting only you and not an area. The spell has no effect on you, and its energy is absorbed by the rod. The rod can absorb up to 5 levels of spells per day, and once it reaches this limit, it cannot absorb any more magic until the next dawn, each absorved spell level adds a mana point in the rod. You can release the energy absorved from the rod to regain mana points, if you do the rod can’t absorb or release mana until the next down.
