Spell scroll

Scroll Varies ()

A Spell scroll bears the inscription of a single spell, stored in magical script. Any creature that can read the language of the scroll can attempt to cast the spell. The spell is cast at its base level, using the scroll’s spellcasting ability and casting time. No material components are required during casting, as they were consumed during the creation of the scroll.

A creature that is not normally a spellcaster can still use a spell scroll. When doing so, they must use the spellcasting ability of the scroll’s creator, and the scroll’s save DC and attack modifier are determined by the caster who created the spell scroll. If the spell is of a level that the reader can normally cast, the spell is cast successfully. If the spell’s level is higher than what the reader can normally cast, the reader must make a spellcasting ability check using the scroll’s spellcasting modifier. The DC for this check is 10 + the spell’s level. On a failed check, the spell fails, and the scroll is consumed.

If the spell requires concentration, the reader must maintain concentration as if they had cast the spell themselves. Any material components required by the spell were consumed during the scroll’s creation, and no further components are necessary when casting from the scroll.

The rarity and cost of the scroll are determined by the level of the spell it contains:
