Associated Ability: Strength

Your Strength (Athletics) check is used in challenging physical situations, like climbing a slippery cliff, dodging obstacles while climbing, jumping farther than usual, pulling off tricks in mid-jump, swimming through rough waters, or keeping your head above water when a creature attempts to drag you down.

Grappling and Shoving Athletics is also used for grappling and shoving in combat. For more details, refer to the Special Melee Attacks section in this chapter.
